Network Applications award-winning credit card processing solution presented in Linux Awardee Experience Sharing Seminar (Dec 2003)

Network Applications presented its award-winning Card-POS credit card processing solution in Linux Business Adoption Award Awardee Experience Sharing Seminar on Dec 9, 2003. The seminar was held at the Exhibition Hall of HKPC Building, and attracted about 100 attendants who are mainly business consultants, management or IT staff of SMEs in various industries. Participants showed strong interest in the breakthrough solution which will help retailers and banks save costs and time spent on credit card transaction processing, and enthusiastically raised questions about the solution from both the practical and technical perspectives.

Network Applications' breakthrough POS & Credit Card Payment Integrated Solution awarded Linux Business Adoption Award 2003 (Nov 2003)

Network Applications' newly developed POS and Credit Card Payment integrated solution - Card POS, was awarded Linux Business Adoption Award 2003 - Merit Award. The breakthrough solution patented by Network Applications in 2003 is designed for lowering banks' and retailers' expenses on handling card transactions and speeding card payment check-out at cashier. No more EDC terminal for card processing is required. Transactions taken at POS frontend is routed automatically to bank server without duplicate entry and in turn response from bank server is directed back to POS frontend to complete the transaction approval. Merchants can actually treat the two separate systems of POS and credit card transaction as an integral one.

The Award was jointly organized by Information Technology Services Department of the HKSAR, Hong Kong Productivity Council and Hong Kong Linux Industry Association to encourage wider business adoption of Linux. Selection criteria of the award included innovation, technology deployment flexibility, benefit to society, cost benefit, etc. The Award presentation ceremony was held on 4 November 2003 at the opening ceremony of the LinuxWorld Conference & Expo.
